Jennifer’s Body (2009 film)
Known Triggers*:
- Supernatural Horror - At the risk of giving too much away (message me for further details), the plot involves a Satanic ritual and demonic possession. The latter especially leads to some scary imagery (including different sorts of body horror, as a human character gets twisted into occasionally developing unnatural facial features). There are elements of misogyny/violence against women inherent to the story as well, as it involves the sacrifice of a virgin (although this is somewhat subverted).
- Rape* (topic) - Although rape does not actually occur, there is imagery reminiscent of one (see under the cut), and a character fears for her friend’s safety.
- Major Character Death (2)
- Mental Hospitals (including a scene with solitary confinement).
- Fire**
- Emetophobia - Twice (I think?) and after the first time it happens it’s mentioned again in conversation, as there’s a supernatural element to it (message me for details).
- Grief and Death of a Child - After the fire, several characters display grief about their lost loved ones. (PTSD is also mentioned.) Throughout the film, as more characters are murdered, we see people reacting to their losses, including the grieving parents of teenage children. One or two deaths in particular are emotionally intense (or at least, they were for me). We see at least one funeral.
- Self-Harm*** (imagery)
- Car Accident - a character hits someone with their car. No one is seriously injured, but it’s traumatic for the main character. We also see broken glass.

Hi, my friends want me to go see "It" with them so after a Google search I came here and read your list on it. But I wanted to clear this up -- is it just livestock being killed? I just lost my cat and our family dog and I can't stand to see one get hurt or else I may have another breakdown. I would really appreciate any help!
Can anyone weigh in?
PS. I’m so so sorry to hear about your losses, Anon! <3 I hope you’re doing okay. Big hugs if you want them.
